Joe Pappalardo Discusses $100 Million Dollar Jury Verdicts at CLM Annual Conference

Joe Pappalardo was a panelist for a breakout session during the CLM Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Thursday, March 14, 2019.  The session, “Lessons Learned from $100 Million Dollar Transportation Jury Verdicts,” analyzed and provided concrete examples of how trucking and transportation companies can evaluate and limit their indemnity exposure and jury verdict potential.  Tactics, including immediately responding to catastrophic accidents, understanding aggravating factors, proactively working with safety directors on compliance with Federal transportation regulations, and the proper retention of documents, were discussed to help reduce the ability of a plaintiff’s attorney to prosecute a reptile theory and also limit exposure to punitive damages.
