Jody Perkins Ryan Overview

Today, more than ever, experience is crucial in navigating the challenges of employment and workers’ compensation law.  With more than two decades of experience defending Ohio’s self-insured employers, Jody is well-positioned to help your business meet those challenges.  Her clients include small businesses as well as Fortune 500 companies.

She counsels employers and management in various areas of employment law including intentional tort, Medicare set-asides, FLMA, OSHA, and ADA compliance; hiring, termination and retaliatory discharge; training, handbook review, policy audits and investigations.

Jody is skilled at advising employers with corresponding business concerns such as the interplay between the FLMA and ADA, and Workers’ compensation, subrogation issues, the defense of employment claims, contract, lease, and restrictive covenants.

Jody is also responsible for the oversight, management, and defense of her client’s workers’ compensation matters. From initial investigation to resolution, she not only handles the administrative hearings on compensability, extent of disability, occupational disease, treatment, and wage issues, permanent total disability and violations of safety requirements, but also represents her clients when litigation proceeds to Ohio’s courts through trial or alternative dispute resolution.
