
Paul D. Galea Overview
Paul Galea’s practice primarily involves defending commercial shipping companies, marinas and private pleasure boat owners and operators in all forms of maritime matters including, personal injury under the Jones Act, Death on the High Seas Act (DOHSA), Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act (LHWCA), as well as injuries to passengers, longshoremen, seamen, wharehousemen, and marina employees. He assists in accident investigations, property damage claims, and in disputes involving employer liability, the Limitation of Liability Act, freight forwarders and NVOCC, attempted searches and seizures, and marine salvage. He handles maritime matters throughout Great Lakes ports in Michigan, and he has appeared before the National Labor Relations Board, United States Coast Guard, and the National Transportation Safety Board. Other substantive areas of Paul’s law practice are professional liability, asbestos and toxic tort, insurance coverage, and ecclesiastical law.
