On April 8, 2020, The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) announced that it will extend and expand its Hours of Service (HOS) Emergency Declaration so truck drivers who are transporting emergency supplies during the pandemic will receive regulatory relief.

The extension applies to all 50 states and will remain in effect until May 15, 2020. (View the official declaration from the FMCSA here.) The initial order was set to expire April 12, 2020, so the new extension is for just over a month.

We will continue to monitor this update and provide additional information as it is disseminated.
