The primary focus of the Professional Liability Group is the representation of attorneys, including in defense of malpractice claims, against ever increasing third-party claims, and in grievance proceedings – both at the state level and federal agencies. Our team has extensive experience in navigating the complex landscape of legal ethics and professional responsibility. We also represent attorneys relative to sanctions, fee disputes, firm dissolutions, and in their fiduciary capacities. Our attorneys are well-versed in the nuances of the Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct, allowing us to provide robust defense strategies tailored to each unique case.
Many of our attorneys also serve as consulting and testifying experts in the area of ethics. We regularly provide risk management and consulting to lawyers and law firms as part of our outside general counsel services. We offer these preventative services to law firms and solo practitioners, including conducting ethics audits, developing compliance programs, and providing continuing legal education on professional responsibility topics.
Our Professional Liability Group also represent accountants, architects, engineers, insurance agents, and real estate professionals, as well as licensed medical and healthcare professionals, veterinarians, municipal officers, teachers, and school administrators against claims of malpractice, errors and omissions, and negligence.
